Forsbacka Manor

About us

Manor in our way

One of Sweden's most beautiful places

Forsbacka is one of Sweden's most beautiful places, and here we run the manor in our own way. We want to create a meeting place for golfers from around the world, where genuine hospitality and excellent food and drink are at the center. Our goal is to become Sweden's best golf restaurant, and we are excited to take you along on the journey.

Our second home

Since autumn 2025

In the autumn of 2025, we took over the hotel and restaurant at Forsbacka. We began with a careful renovation of the manor's interior to restore the house's former glory, and since then we have modernized the hotel — among other things, with TVs and minibars in all rooms and new, fresh furniture. Forsbacka has become like our second home, and we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Warm welcome,
Helena and Tommy Tveter with staff

Love for Craftsmanship

On the glass and on the plate

To create Sweden's best golf restaurant, love for the craft is needed, and we have that in abundance. Here, traditional Swedish cuisine meets innovative elements, and we want to show how delicious it can be both in the glass and on the plate. All with hospitality that will make you want to return.

Forsbacka Manor

Over 350 years at Forsbacka

More than 350 years ago, people lived and worked at Forsbacka. In the late 17th century, an ironworks was established here, thanks to the abundant supply of water and timber. The works grew quickly, and by 1870, around 125 people lived on the estate. During the time of the works, this building served as an office and likely also as a residence for the forest master and his family, the one who was responsible for the forestry. Hence, the house was named: The Forest Master's Wing.

It is not only workers, industrialists, and forest masters who have stayed here over the years. In 1716, Prince Frederick of Hesse made a stop at Forsbacka after being wounded in battle in Høland, Norway. A few years later, he became the King of Sweden after Charles XII, and it was rumored that it might have been Frederick who fired the fatal shot at Charles XII in Halden in 1718.

The Forest Master's Wing has had many functions over the years, including as an office, residence, and ammunition depot. In 1988, the building was in very poor condition, and the choice was between demolition and renovation. Fortunately, the golf club chose to refurbish the house and transform it into a hotel.
